Dispatches from the Distancing – Day 126 AND Saturday Snapshot

Another exciting week has come to an end, and I hope you get the sarcasm there. The high point of today was taking cans to the recycling center, so that should give you an idea owhat we’ve been up to.

Hopefully the weekend will be a bit more exciting. We are planning to take a hike tomorrow at a Trappist Monastery. The challenge will be keeping the kids (especially Chris) quiet! Hiking is incredibly popular here, which means that most trails are crowded–I’ve never hiked this particular trail but I’m hoping it is off the beaten path enough to avoid the crowds.

I’m not sure what is on the docket for Sunday–one thing for the kids is to clean up the bonus room so that I can practice yoga in there. It isn’t horribly messy now, but there are far too many legos on the floor! I have been doing yoga in our bedroom, but there isn’t much room. Plus, if I want to practice first thing in the morning, I usually have to wait for Pat to wake up. The kids don’t know about this plan yet, and I’m not sure they are going to like it (in fact, I’m sure I’m going to be hearing all about it), but that’s what is going to happen!

So, here are the pictures from July 17 in years past. Enjoy!

2010

This is from Lillie’s first trip to the Children’s Museum. If I remember correctly, she was getting over an ear infection, but it doesn’t seem to have dampened her spirit.

2011

My little guy is only about 9 months old here, but he’s on the move!

2014

It took me a little while to identify this one, but it was taken at Badlands National Park during our epic road trip.

2017

One of many “before and after” pics of my boy and his hair

I hope you all have a safe week! Wear your mask, wash your hands, and social distance!
