I notice that I’ve become more sporadic with these posts. I certainly didn’t intend for that to happen, but I think it comes down to 2 reasons. Well, 1 reason and 1 excuse. The excuse is that Pat and I have been taking walks in the evening when it is a little cooler and I’m just sort of done when we get back. Now the reason is that I just don’t have that much to share. Our life has become very monotone in a lot of ways. It’s not bad–it’s just there isn’t much to shake things up at the moment.
So, here is the best I can do. I spent an hour this evening watching the livestream of a school board panel about plans for next year. The gist of it was that it’s going to start online. It’s not ideal, but I don’t think “ideal” even exists anymore. My hope now is that the kids get back into the school building at some point this school year.
The upside of that is that the school district has been working updating their curricula to make it more tech-friendly. Then, when this is all behind us, they’ll continue to use the tech more in the classrooms. Lillie actually used quite a bit of tech in her class last year, but it wasn’t always integrated with the curriculum, so I think this will be a great improvement.
In other news…well, there is no other news. We rarely leave the house these days, although another hiking trip is planned for this weekend. The kids have been masked up and playing with their friends in the neighborhood, so at least they are getting some social time–otherwise they would be bouncing off the walls. We have been watching a lot of House Hunters lately. I’m not sure why we’re so fixated on that show, but it is at least something we can all watch together and Lillie has some very strong opinions about real estate!
I’m leaving you with a picture of Pat, wearing his fishing mask, from our walk last night. We’ve started taking our masks with us when we walk, although I usually only wear mine when we come to other people. Pat, however, wears his all the time–which I don’t understand. He says it helps with his allergies, but I’m a bit skeptical about that!
