Dispatches from the Distancing – Days 147-148 AND Saturday Snapshot

Another week gone…not that we’d notice. Pat and I went out for a bit this evening for some exciting stuff, going to Costco and Trader Joe’s. In the car, Pat lamented that he just feels stuck in the house. While I think he prefers working from home over working in the office for a variety of reasons, I can also see how it can be a painful adjustment for him.

I’m not sure what is on the agenda for this weekend. The weather is supposed to be nice, so I’m hoping that there will be some sort of outdoor activity. Pat was talking about hiking Saddle Mountain, which I tried to explain to him was a very bad idea. Fortunately, for my sake, it looks like the trail is closed. I’m thinking we need to do some flat hikes for a while before the kids just decide that they never want to hike again.

Things in the home are the same as always, but Pat and I have realized that Lillie isn’t quite ready for on-demand internet access. She was spending her entire day on her Kindle or her Chromebook watching YouTube, playing games, etc. We told her when we gave her these devices that we would put limits on them if it became a problem–and it became a problem. She’s not happy about this, but I think it will be a good thing in the long run. In a month, she’ll be spending all day online for school and she needs to re-learn how to do things without screens.

Okay, onto the pictures! I went into my Amazon photos app to see pictures taken on this day in years past….and nothing was there. Apparently I just don’t take pictures on August 7! So, instead, Alice posed for a photo shoot.

Enjoy!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay healthy and wear your mask!
