Once again I let two days go by between posts, although this time it was because my laptop was just not cooperating last night and I didn’t have the energy to fight with it. I realize that all that is usually required is a shut down and restart, but an episode of Midsomer Murders seemed much more attractive at the time.
I made another baby step into the real world on Wednesday with a trip to the dentist. It was nothing traumatic, well no more traumatic than dentist visits usually are. Other than having my temperature taken when I checked in and having to use a special mouthwash, it was pretty much the same as usual.
I did tell my dentist that I was having some cold sensitivity with a tooth that was crowned in September. He explained it was because I drink ice water and I need to drink room temperature water for a while for the nerve to calm down. To this, I said, “Okay.” And he looked at me and said, “You aren’t going to do do as I say, are you?” My answer? “Nope.” Sorry, but room temperature water is a step too far. He sighed and suggested that I use a straw instead. That I can do.
You know, when a dental cleaning is the most exciting thing to happen in your week, you know you are still in quarantine. As cv19 numbers skyrocket (again), we are hunkering down. The school district has been sending emails out, but we still don’t know what September will look like. I think, at this point, we can assume that a hybrid format is the best case scenario, but purely online might be in our future again. Sigh. I just have to keep reminding myself that we made it through the spring, we’ll make it through the fall.
For my Saturday snapshot pictures, I have 2 snaps from Vacation Bible Schools of years past. Obviously, there is no VBS this year, and I think we may be done with it. Lillie has aged out of it and I don’t think Chris is interested if Lillie isn’t there. But at least we have cute pictures from years past!
