Guess who now has absolutely no plans this summer?
We got the word today that Girl Scouts is canceling everything, including overnight camps, until August 31. It wasn’t a surprise and Lillie took it in stride. I think at this point she is used to everything being canceled.
We had planned to start a family road trip down to California when we picked up Lillie from camp and that isn’t completely off the table. We have no idea what things are going to be like this summer and if it looks safe, we may still try to do that. But, then, we are pretty cautious and it may just not be worth it. We’ll see. I do want Pat to take some time off this summer–because we canceled our March trip to Arizona, he hasn’t taken any breaks from work yet. But, “wait and see” is the way we’re living right now.
This was a tougher home school day. Chris was having some trouble concentrating, to the point it took him 3 hours to do his math. And Lillie was getting upset over simple mistakes that were easily remedied. I think home school is taking its toll on all of us.
Meanwhile, Alice just can’t understand why everyone is still here! Yesterday, she decided to have an adventure by jumping onto the fence and taunting the German Shepherd next door. She has actually been rather impatient with Lillie lately, which isn’t surprising as Lillie doesn’t always mind Alice’s growls when she tries to cuddle her. But, on the flip side, I’m her second favorite person (Pat is still her main squeeze), so I can’t complain about that.
Speaking of Alice, I’m closing with this picture I snapped of her about 2 hours ago. It is probably my favorite…
