We’re still in a very busy season of life and I was shocked to see how few pictures I had taken this week. No worries–I’ll have opportunities to take many pictures in the coming weeks, but I do have one for you this week.
My daughter is no stranger to my Saturday Snapshot posts, but this picture commemorates a big event for her this week–one parents did not attend, so this is all I have. This was her first year competing in the Battle of the Books. She had been part of a scaled-down version last year at her old school, but this was her first year doing the “real thing.” She read all 16 books (unlike, as she points out, the rest of her team!) and they finished second in the school! I would have loved to have been there, but this parking lot picture was as close as I came.
She’s already thinking ahead to next year, when she’ll be in the middle school level (even though 6th grade is still a part of elementary school in our district). The books for the 2020/2021 school year will be announced in a few months and she can’t wait!
Congratulations to your daughter! Fabulous job, reading all those books.
