Our last big stop of our trip was the Painted Hills in Eastern Oregon. This is part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, but this area is better known for its scenery than its rocks. That being said, my husband still wanted to do some rock hunting. But, alas, that is not allowed. Instead, he just had to enjoy the views. And the heat.
