Saturday Snapshot – November 16, 2019

After we picked up our daughter from Girl Scout Camp, we headed west.  Our destination for the night was Roseburg, Oregon, a town I’m sure I’ve been through before but remembered very little of it.

However, on the way, we came across Fort Umpqua.  My husband and I are always up for a little history, so we stopped to take a look around.  The fort is overlooks the Umpqua River (hence the name) and while there was little staff there, we were impressed with the the site.  We were also impressed with the heat.  It was in the 60s when we left the coast and well into the 90s when we got out of the car at Fort Umpqua.

After exploring the fort, we continued to Roseburg, which really is a picturesque little town.  We may have to make a return trip, just to stay again at the Holiday Inn Express to enjoy the amazing view!
