This post will have fewer pictures, only because I’m still sharing photos from July 30th and the natural “break” of the day just fell in a way that this part was shorter.
We’re technically still at Shore Acres, but have just left the “state park” part of it. Just south of a park is a scenic viewpoint which, when we drove by, was swarming with cars. Obviously, something was happening there! We pulled over to join the crowd and saw, out in the ocean, some rocky outcroppings with hundreds of sea lions. A gentleman was nice enough to let my son use his telescope to get a better view but I wish I had recorded the sounds of their barks!
After that, we headed just a stones’ throw down the road to Simpson Beach. This was a private beach (back when Oregon had such things) for the Simpson family, who owned the mansion at what is now Shore Acres.
I’m trying a new link widget, so please let me know if you have any feedback!
Beautiful views. I prefer this link widget than the old one.
