We started our first full day at the beach by exploring the area around Florence.  My husband has always enjoyed rock hunting and he found a nearby beach that supposedly had some interesting rocks.  While it was little iffy getting down to the beach (my husband and son had no problem, while I had a spectacularly comic fall!), we ended up on a lovely stretch of the coast.  No interesting rocks were found, but my husband and son had fun exploring the tide pools.
